Default LG Games Munich - Pics

Hi everybody!

Last weekend, LG Action Sports Championships brought all international top skaters to Munich, Germany. The event took place in a hot and sunny Munich Olympiapark the whole weekend, open to the public, together with skateboarding and BMX contests and a moto stunt show.

The halfpipe with a coping height of 4.20 m, two high roll-ins, and a total width of 15 m is one of the best ramps you could ever dream of skating on. Of course nearly all of the time it was reserved for the pro skaters, like Takeshi and Eito Yasutoko, Marc Englehart, Fabiola da Silva and the German ASA-proskater Patrick Zimmermann who finished 4th before Fabiola who made 5th in the finals on Sunday after trying a double backflip. German halfpipe champion Niclas Stephan was not on the starters list, but after watching his performance during practise sessions I'm sure we will see more from him in the near future.

In the street parcours, Bruno Lowe was back again, after not skating for nearly a whole year because of an injury. Unfortunately he didn't qualify for the finals, so it was up to Daniell Prell, Chris Weber and last but not least Dominik Wagner to represent Germany in the parc, and Dominik did a really good job which earned him 5th, before "Murda" Johnson. Some people criticized the way in which the street parcours was built up, but this was due to the fact, that after the LG event in Moscow, only a third of the original parts arrived in Munich, the rest had to be replaced by spare parts, so it wasn't perfect, but still worth while watching top skating on an international level with Brian Aragon, Brian Shima and all the others.

So in the end, this was a fantastic event that brought extreme sports and aggressive inline to the eyes of a greater public once more, like just recently the German Championships at YOU Messe Essen (read more ...).
