I've just discovered this site, thanx to rich parker! and have just been reading through some of the old forum pieces. i love skating vert but sometimes i think its really difficult. where i skate there is a vert but im the only person who skates it, well practically the only one, and its really hard because a lot of my friends skate street and that so most of the time im left skating on my own. the only time i really get to skate with other vert skaters is at comps and when i meet up with rich, rob, alex, etc. (whcih isnt a lot). I was just wondering if anyone has this problem, or has had this problem. it seems to me that vert takes a lot of dedication and hard work. but i think its worth it, like when i learnt bios and flairs this summer, it was just amazing. and recently ive been hitting airs at head height and feel like all of my hard work is really paying off. all i have to do now is qualify for the world am finals, seeing as for the last two years i've finished in the space behind the qualifing spots!

Luke im in the same boat as you. I'm the only roller in my area interested in Vert, also i have to drive three hours to get to the nearest vert ramp. So the only time I can ride with other vert riders is the ASA circuit and when I was at Lake Owen.

Itsnot quite so bad for me because i only live 5-15 minutes from a vert ramp, and its indoors which means you can skate it even in the terrible english winter! Although its only 10ft high, my favourite in the UK is one in London, i think its something like 12ft high and generally bigger than my local. not that i mindmuch because most parks dont have verts so i feel lucky to even have the chance to skate one. oh and heres my website address if anyones interested http://vertskatingintheuk.tripod.com[/img]
