i can get pretty much air while on flat ramps, but not on the ones you can carve, maybe its a bad habit for not skating verts before, what can i do to improve my air, i can land a 540 in flat ramps but not on half pipes

what ur problem is that your probably not pumping meaning you need more speed on a halfpipe btw do you live in england and i have the same skates as you.

One thing to try is riding the vert all the way to the top. Many people beleive that to gain height, is to jump. Unfortunatly this doesnt work for vert, it will actually slow you down and mess your balance up. Basically try and keep your skates on the ramp, and only lift them slightly to turn at that point where you stop going up the ramp, and start to come back down again. This will improve your balance, and give you more speed by riding the ramp. Height is a combination of pump, balance and timing whilst staying relaxed. Best thing to do in the begining, is just to get used to riding the ramp all the way, without jumping, or lifting the feet to much. Let us know how you go.

ill being trying to pump up and its working, though im getting like 1.5 feet off, which is still not much, what i did was simple, i started off in a 3 feet quarter, so i could feel more comfortable while having air, actually in the 3 feet vert i got like 3 or 4 feet air, now the problem is that on the 9 feet vert, when i land, sometimes i hit the coping, and the hell..... it feels like your going to kiss the ramp
hahahaha
thnx for the advice...
and i dont live in uk, i live @ mexico/texas (you know those border cities way of life), i give a damn, i just skate wherever i can :)
